Tariff chaos—the current state of affairs

Price uncertainty specifically related to the recent US tariffs on building materials like steel and aluminum is causing significant disruptions. 


The impact —raising material costs, supply chain uncertainty, and it’s making it harder to plan projects. 


We note that companies are not pulling the trigger on projects. Lots of plans are sitting in limbo which results in not closing at the rate they were at this time last year.  Plus it is creating increased competition to gain the projects. Suppliers and manufacturers are offering a wide range of pricing swings. 


For us, it boils down to relationships, customer service, lead time, and response time.
